Vorstellung: Midi Universal Converter (MUC)

Presentation: Midi Universal Converter (MUC)

The MUC models are the professional unit to link between MIDI devices, such as PC , sequencers , keyboards and controllable analog synthesizers.

The special features at the MUC are the many different output functions and voltage ranges, what can you configure very flexibly independently for each output.
The large number of up to 16 CV outputs allows to use a corresponding number of  VCOs. Due to the high 16-bit resolution, you can easily configure Glide and ADSR functions.

Due to the very clear and simple menu operation on the high-contrast 4  or 8 line display, all configuration changes on the unit will be very easy. New settings are immediately observed at the output and be automatically transferred to a non-volatile memory.

For visual control with respect to signal duration and voltage level of a control voltage, each output has his own red LED. Incoming MIDI data is visualized by a green LED.

The strong performance of the MUC model series is achieved by the use of the latest hardware components such as microcontrollers and DA converters , so that the conversion time (delay ) is a maximum of 0.4 ms!
Our last MUC model (MUC-8xx) supports now polyphonic with velocity up to 8 voices.
Firmware updates are easily possible through the integrated  bootloader via the MIDI In input. The firmware that is already in the  8th version, we can you offer many number of output functions.

Please Note: The MUC-3xx Series is a low budget version.

This series only has an 8-bit DAC instead of a much more expensive 16-bit DAC, although all voltage spreads are of course output correctly, as with the 4xx and 8xx series. Only smooth voltage transitions cannot be achieved with 8-bit resolution. This means that the following functions are not available or are not implemented correctly in the MUC-3xx series:

  • Fine tuning is only possible on your analog synthesizer.
  • No glide functions.
  • No ADSR function.
